10 Things to Do with Children in a Boring Environment While on Vacation
Photo by Charlein Gracia on Unsplash |
Whether you and children are visiting a low-energy
relative’s home with nothing to entertain young guests or visiting a public
building with long lines, plan in advance to keep children busy. The following are tips to help you as well maintain your sanity while with them!
1) Ask the host or person responsible for the dwelling or public area if they have anything to entertain children.
2) Bring children’s favorite items (quiet toys) from home or those that they haven’t seen in awhile.
3) Make up games that involve movement like Charades or Musical Chairs.
4) Use your voice and guide them in song or reciting something fun if the place doesn't require you to be quiet.
5) Show them around the area if it is big enough and point out details.
6) If you are able to walk or run in a large open space, you can set up races with the children.
7) Craft projects are also a good way to past the time. Look up fun and easy crafts that require minimal tools.
8) Traditional children card games like Go Fish and Old Maid are fun to play with little ones.
9) Check phone apps that are multi-player and pass the phone around.
10) Play cool Bingo games there are many educational ones like learning shapes, letters, numbers and foreign languages.
11) Tell children funny stories about your youth.
12) Create a drawing using pens, pencils and other writing tools to pass the time away. Tic Tac Toe and Hangman are fun activities.
When the children are quiet and busy, this makes everyone content and traveling to new places aren't so overwhelming. Also, please remember to bring headphones along when carrying gaming devices!
Have a great time!

When You are Tired of Being at Home...Find Additional Employment!!
Hello my name is Nicholl, the owner of this blog, just wanted to encourage some of you who are simply growing weary of being at home on your off days to start seeking additional employment. Maybe your current job is unsatisfying or maybe you just need more to do. The benefits of working an additional job away from a computer increases your social skills, helps you meet financial obligations, and achieve personal and professional goals. I decided to take some time out to do just that and I feel good! Thanks to all who support this blog, keep sharing!

Cheap or Free Stuff to Do this Summer
So my quest began to do something cheap or free this summer. I checked out a list of family oriented activities and thought it might be helpful to share. I hope this information inspires you to live a little this season--beautiful days don't last long, so make the most of them! Children and grandchildren cooped up in a house (no matter the size) can wear on your nerves. Get them out and about!
1) Check out local parks. Some will have select days that they host community events. Have a picnic or a mini family reunion or simply exercise or play games with the children at one.
2) Outdoor concerts bring out the dancer in you!
3) Select fresh vegetables and fruits at the Farmer's markets.
4) Flea markets or swap meets host cheap sometimes rare goods.
5) Local (smaller) amusement parks. Typically not as expensive as the larger parks.
6) Stop by a bowling alley and check out summer specials.
7) Find out what are the free museum days (children, local government, natural history, etc.)
8) Visit local libraries. There are classes, summer reading contests, and story times for children.
9) Visit churches. When is the last time you confessed your sins or asked for prayer?
10) Tour your city's botanical gardens.
11) Find out what days the zoo is free.
12) Art walks and galleries inspire you and your family's creative side.
13) Search for wine, beer and food tastings at local grocery stores. (You can leave the kids w/ someone for this :)
14) Call to find out when stores like Home Depot and businesses and schools are hosting free workshops.
15) Look for free factory tours that show consumers how their products are made.
16) Skate parks or roller skating facilities.
17) Fishing, camping and hunting classes, competitions, etc.
18) Check out local sporting events or sign up for one. There are adult and children leagues at recreational centers.
19) Outdoor adventure presentations.
20) Hiking trails.
21) Free lectures--choose your industry/interest. They are sometimes held on site or at hotel conference centers.
22) Health and cooking demonstrations.
23) Historic lectures and walking tours.
