12 Ways to Be at Peace During a Financial Crisis

Back in the good ole’ days, you had money to splurge, friends came around often and everyone seemed to be happy for you.  Yet, one day, something happened to turn your finances upside down and now all you can do is think of how to get yourself out of this mess.  It seems as if the financial storm is lasting longer than the financial sunshine, so what do you do?  How do you get past the sadness, frustration, anger and confusion?

The following suggestions may help you cope and if you choose to use them, your storm may not last for long.  (As we all know storms don’t last for always.)

1. Put whatever change you have aside from spending money and begin to save.  As crazy as it may seem, saving during a financial crisis will provide you with the hope that you need to get out of your situation.  Learn how to do more on the Internet to help with your crisis.
2. Don’t talk to everyone about your being “broke” or “poor,” this doesn’t help you with keeping a positive attitude.
3. Take the time to write down short term and long-term financial goals.  Read articles abut the things you hope to accomplish, this way when you do have the money you will be educated enough to make the right decisions.
4. Don’t lend money when you know you can’t afford to.  As nice as it may seem, it is probably what aided your financial storm.  Always think of you first.
5. Find everything and anything on sale, use coupons when you can, and most of all avoid impulse buying.
6. Stay away from credit cards at this time.  Why dig a whole deeper for yourself when you are trying to climb out of it?
7. Be sure to define what exactly is a financial emergency, if you have alternatives ways to get to work, why pay for high price gas?  If you have leftovers in the refrigerator, then why pay for lunch?
8. Walk around your home looking for items you don’t need, whether you sell them or give them away, they will be a blessing to someone and as you know good things will come back to you when you believe.
9. Surround your atmosphere with the things that made you successful in your past.  Take out your prized moments and display them on the wall.  This creates an atmosphere of positive thinking.  Then add to your décor the things that you hope to achieve.  For example, post a photo of the trip you always wanted to take, the clothes you enjoy buying and maybe list a charity you would like to give to.  Once the money comes in, make your dreams a reality.
10. Take a break from gift-giving, instead make phone calls or email.  You don’t know whose heart you may touch with saying the right words, rather than buying the right gifts.
11. In all thy giving, expect to receive.  No matter what you have done in the past, present or future, someone will do something nice for you, it may not always be monetarily, but whatever it may be, it will be good for your heart.
12. Most of all, if you have a faith, pray that God will provide you with the wisdom to save, invest and obtain money legally and joyfully.  Too often people will look at their situation in a negative light and that only attracts more negativity.

For years I have spent time online taking surveys, watching videos, conducting paid searches, and writing reviews.  Many people question whether or not people really do make money, and they do, I have and continue to do so! 

Some of the best websites out there like this survey website, Paid Viewpoint, are reputable and easy to use.  Supplemental income is what helped me during tough times like when I had unexpected expenses and realized I had money sitting in my Paypal account I had yet to use.

Boredom Can Produce Wealthy Ideas

One day I didn't have anything better to do than to click on links around the web, check out some websites, you know the typical stuff.  Then I came across some ways to make money and started clicking away.  I didn't want to participate in home parties, MLM, or other similar things to make extra money.  So I came across some individuals who had various ideas on investing money, so I listened. 

 

Some invested in websites, others spent money on mutual funds, people bought collectibles, and more. I knew I could afford less than $20 to start buying mutual funds.  I also had some money saved to buy a few collectibles too--something that I didn't even bother to think of at the time.  That was over a decade ago when I used a boring experience wisely.

Since then I have found all sorts of ways to make money around the web and I talk to people online as well as offline about some things.  The sites I list are legitimate.  They are easy and quick to join.  I have had no problems with any of these sites.  My personal experiences have been positive, otherwise I wouldn't recommend them.  So if you are a bit bored, want to try something different, and make money, then why not?

Consolidate bills

First, you can't truly be satisfied making money when what little comes in is going out so quickly.  Consider consolidating bills so that you have one easy payment per month rather than loads of them.  Consider a personal loan from a reputable company. Take out your receipts, check your bank account, and view those on and offline purchases.  What does your spending and saving look like?  For some people who made New Year's resolutions regarding saving, spending, and investing money, they have already lost their motivation.

Get back on track by noting what you have spent money for last month such as: food, clothing, computer, entertainment, housing, donations, and more.  When you see the numbers, you just might want to cut back.  You will also learn that most of what you bought, you really didn't need and you could have saved that money for something you do.

Think about ways to do things better this month.  You might need to cut back on the random snacking, stop visiting people for awhile, and volunteering to help others.  You will also discover that you might be bored during certain times of the month which will cause you to spend more.

There are apps that can help you stay on track when it comes to setting up financial goals.  Maybe you need to start setting aside money for a purchase, a vacation, a holiday, or something else.  Check out what is available in the app store.  Also, note your goals and post where you can see them daily.

Here's an example:

Entertainment (movies, restruarants) - Last month $100. This month cut by 50%
Groceries - Last month $250 household contribution. This month add additional $50
Clothing - Last month $25 for a designer t-shirt. This month no wasteful spending.
Utilities - Last month $100 contribution.  This month, no change.
Savings - Last month $0.  This month take money saved from not going out and add here.
December vacation - Last month $20.  This month and going forward will need to add at least $75 monthly. 
Donation - Last month $5 (will need to start getting receipts for taxes). Next month no more than $20.

You get the point.  You total receipts, then note how much you spent.  You will use the totals to determine how much you will save, invest, donate, etc.  Consider using envelopes for cash or setting up separate bank accounts for your plans.  To your success!
